Team Events

The DCCA runs a number of team events throughout the season. These are one-day events open to all Devon clubs with most having a grade-restricted component to ensure the most competitive environment.

The events for this year are as follows. All are standard play unless specified:

Devon and Cornwall second teams were in action on Sunday 12th April 2026 competing for the Wayling Cup – Jon Underwood provides a brief report.

The next DCCA one-day event, for the Mamhead trophy, will be hosted by Newton Abbott Chess Club on Saturday 18th April. The event is scheduled to start at 10.30am and should finish around 5.30pm (note the revised time 30 minutes earlier than previously announced).
